Members of the 2011 Yellowstone Leadership Challenge being audacious!
On a cold and blustery Wednesday night in Livingston, Montana, we hosted a gathering with many of our recent Yellowstone Leadership Challenge participants. It was two hours of high energy and inspiration. Students all shared what has changed in their lives since the leadership challenge and I was moved, proud and inspired by the depth of their words. These programs are a critical element in helping our local Yellowstone teens to uncover their potential as leaders in their communities and champions of conservation.
We concluded our first follow up meeting with a lively discussion surrounding how we can create a meaningful and impactful after school program for Park High students. Park High sits in the heart of Livingston, the new home to Yellowstone Country Guardians and the original gateway community to Yellowstone National Park. We will continue to meet with local teens to uncover how we can maximize our ability to facilitate positive experiences that will enhance their ability to inspire social, cultural and environmental stewardship throughout our communities.
